Keep the Water Moving

You only run the fountain in the evening and night to circulate cool air throughout the water. If you run the fountain or waterfall during the day, you risk making the water even hotter because you are circulating the hot air throughout the water.
Use a Pool Mister
Pool misters can quickly lower the temperature of your pool water. The constant mist leads to quick evaporation and in turn cooler water. We recommend running the pool mister at night for a greater cooling effect.

Do you remember that great feeling of having a brand new pool in your backyard? The vibrant colors and patterns of the liner shining in the sun, waiting for you to jump in? The vinyl liner in your pool can last from 10 to 15 years, if properly maintained. However, there are factors that can affect its lifespan, such as not keeping the water balanced. Even if you do everything in your power to protect your liner, there comes a time when you need to replace it. Here are some signs that indicate when the time has come.
Fades and Stains
You can’t keep the vibrant colors and patterns forever. Over time, exposure to chemicals and UV rays will make your vinyl liner fade, as well as the patterns. Keep an eye out for algae, stains, and rust buildup. These are very difficult to remove. But the problem isn’t just the aesthetics here. With fading comes a loss of plasticizers, which keep the vinyl liner flexible. Therefore, the liner becomes brittle and doesn’t expand and contract as easily as before.
Water Leaks
Has the water level inside your pool gotten smaller? Use a simple bucket test to determine if the water loss is due to natural evaporation or from a leak. Leaks that are below the water surface are not easy to spot. This is why you should monitor your water levels, to catch a problem before it becomes a serious issue. Stretching and Wrinkles
A new, properly installed vinyl liner fits your pool’s surfaces like a glove. However, as the liner ages, wrinkles will start to appear. This is because it loses elasticity and plasticity. Once it begins stretching, wrinkles will form. Wrinkles can appear on the corners, on the bottom, or near fittings, such as drains. Although this can be due to age, damaged under-floor or under-wall spots can be the cause as well.
